Community league | all-stars | travel
South Haven Junior Youth League provides opportunities for kids to play at their preferred level of competition.
Community League
SHJYL regular season community league provides a platform for learning and developing fundamentals at all ages. Players 4+ with any level of experience will get the instruction they need to have fun and be successful on the field.
Teams are selected by coaches through a draft process.
For game diversity, 8U and older teams play in the SAC West Division and will play Coloma, Watervliet and Hartford community league teams in addition to South Haven teams.
All-Stars
All-Star teams (8U+) provide an opportunity for exposure to more challenging play. All-Star players are invited to participate based on coach nominations and through a selection process.
The All-Star season begins after regular season. All-Star teams play 3-4 weekend tournaments.
travel teams
For experienced players or those looking for more competitive play, SHJYL Travel baseball and softball teams supplement community league. Travel team players are required to play in SHJYL's regular community league season. Travel team players play regular season games during the week with their community league team and participate in weekend tournaments with their travel team.
Travel teams practice year-round and participate in additional training and specialized instruction.
Travel teams play 4-5 tournaments, April-July. Try-outs are held in August.

Practices & Games
Community league team practices may begin the first week of April. Practices are held two times per week until opening day.
Games are played twice a week May through mid June.
8U+ teams play in the SAC West Division and will play Coloma, Watervliet and Hartford in addition to South Haven teams.
